Announcement: The Band
I guess you could say that I’ve been pretty quiet for the last few months. That’s not completely true though. I’ve simply been a little ‘internet quiet’. These last few months have actually been very busy for me.
The biggest and most important item has been the band.
We have decided to switch the emphasis from a ‘Clarky’ project to a ‘band’ project.
And the band has a new name too. We are now called:
Curse of the 9th
Our music will not be all instrumental like the Clarky stuff. There will be vocals.
We intend to create music that is passionate, hard hitting and powerful yet dynamic and filled with thought provoking themes.
Live, we will be playing a mixture of Curse of the 9th and Clarky music.
So, it’s time for us all to get writing like crazy.
We are all so excited about this it’s amazing.
We are Curse of the 9th and we hope to be playing to you guys as soon as we can.
Announcement: The Fan Club Website
Well what can I say? A little birdie has told me that two of my fans in Holland – Auke and Muis - have created a fansite.
http://www.clarkyteam.com/
They have made a wonderful job of it and they’ve unearthed all kinds of stuff.
In fact they’ve made such an amazing job of it that we’ve decided to endorse it as the official fansite for both myself and Curse of the 9th.
I’d like to say a very special thanks to both Auke and Muis for all this. You guys are truly wonderful.
The David Cross Band:
Another little thing that has kept me busy has been the David Cross Band.
Only last week we were playing in Naples and Rome.
Naples:
In all my career, I have never had so many technical problems happen all at the same time. During David’s “pre-set” solo my rig starts making these dreadful noises. Like some sort of power problem. I quickly switched over to my reserve rig and all seemed ok. That is until we got half way through the second song when the same stuff starts happening again. I quickly shut it all down, checked all the cabling and powered back up. Eventually the rig came back up and everything was ok.
I narrowed the issue down to a bad UK to Europe plug converter thing.
Panic and pain over, we went on to play a superb gig to fabulous fans.
Rome:
Back to the Stazzione Birra. This is without doubt one of my favourite venues in all of Europe. I love everything about this place. Great sound, great crew, great vibe, great fans. The band were all looking forward to going back there so much that there was a sort of buzz in the tour bus. The gig was simply fabulous. Passionate, vibrant and exciting. The fans were simply stunning. A special thanks to each and every one of you for making it such a special and unforgettable evening.
I’d like to take this chance to say a special thanks to:
Stefano – thanks for making all this possible, I look forward greatly to working with you more in the future.
Francesco - you tirelessly looked after us all through the tour and was great fun too.
Bro, you were awesome, thanks a million to you.
All in all, I love playing passionate music to passionate people.
So it comes as no surprise that I love playing in Italy.
Cheers Clarky
