Jamie Woods

Jamie is a very experienced player, both live and in the studio, having performed under various guises all over the country for several years. He has an extremely natural approach, being predominantly self-taught but still managing to develop a high degree of technical command over the instrument and a fundamental sense of groove.

Jamie was exposed to music from a very early age, particularly his father’s extensive collection of reggae records, and this is undoubtedly responsible at least in part for Jamie’s ability to play exactly what is required for each song – no more, and no less. Later on, Jamie was a part of sixties function band The 6Ts where he continued to develop a real sense of musicianship due to the demands of learning and playing other people’s parts note-for-note.

Jamie’s passion and energy behind the drums are deeply intoxicating, as he pours every fibre of himself into every last note.
